It seems to happen every year, Spring arrives, and suddenly we all start changing our diets, or at least exploring it. We dread putting on shorts or swimsuit, and start to make some changes.

For me it happened last year. I wasn't feeling up to par. I was overweight, tired and uncomfortable in my own skin. I knew I needed to do something different, but I wasn't sure where to start. I would google healthy eating plans, treadmill workouts, etc. It was a little overwhelming.

After failing at a few poor efforts, I finally found a system that works for me, and I'm happy to say this Spring I'm 30 lbs lighter, and not fearing the shorts! With that said, there are some food that I choose to stay away from now. I splurge from time to time, but things that once were in my diet everyday are now treats that I might enjoy once a week.

Dr. Oz covers five things with Oprah in this video that we should all stop eating. Take a look at the nutritional labels on  your food, and if you see these things listed in the first five, don't eat them. You'll be surprised at the difference it makes in how you feel.

What five things should you stay away from?

  • High-Fructose Corn Syrup
  • Enriched White Flour
